Hello blog!

I'm currently, cuddled up in my favorite lilac fuzzy blanket, lounging in my home away from home (college apartment), and beaming with joy about how uuuh-mazing this shoot was!! Disclaimer, I have a new found love for italics. You have been warned.

Let me first take the time to say Thank you Jesus! With my splitting headache, unexpected anxiety, and lack of sleep from the night before (aka Friday night if you're getting lost), I was so nervous about how this shoot would go. But boy did the Lord pull through for me. As soon as I places my cozy, burgundy floral camera strap around my neck my fears instantly dissipated.

Big shoutout to Tommy for being the social media manger
and comic relief I didn't know I needed
Now that my mini testimony is over with let's talk about this fashion forward shoot. Saturday's model was the beautiful and lovely Chaunyetta (Chaun). Chaun got in contact with me through Instagram and she went on to ask me if I could provide her with some photos for her new fashion blog. Now if you know me, you know that fashion and photography are two of my most favorite things. You know, besides cats, cactus/succulents, sleeping, writing, and tea. Anyway, in person client consolations are my absolute favorite. Don't get me wrong, emailing and messaging each other is great but you can't capture a person's true essence through Times New Roman. And as a photographer I want to take every opportunity I can to make a deep and personal connection with every person I meet. I became a photographer because I wanted to be able to capture the infatuating essence of every person I meet. So, Chaun and I met up for our mini consultation at Panera Bread on Christmas Eve to brainstorm and collaborate. After meeting Chaun and seeing her captivating smile in person, I knew this shoot was going to be one for the books.

And I was right (cue U Guessed it by OG Maco).

Now let's talk about these killer locations!! My photographer heart could not contain itself. I'm pretty sure I stopped everyone at least three times while on our way to a new location because I found a newer location. Abandoned buildings, grunge staircases (yes I am aware that grunge is a noun. Grammar goons please let me live), symmetrical alleyways, and extravagant graffiti, made these locations extra interesting as the complimented Chaun's outfits perfectly.
Chaun sent me photos of all of her outfits before hand, so I had an idea of what to expect, but seeing her in those outfits, in person was a whole different experience! With vibrant patterns, pops of color, faux fur jackets, and whimsical pizza socks, Chaun's confidence and fun loving attitude shines through her style. Not to mention that she's literally a natural in front of the camera! I was yelling "YAAS" and "VOGUE" through the whole shoot. I'm not even joking when I'm telling you that I almost called Tyra Banks in the middle of this shoot to get this girl on the runway! Big shoutout to Chaun for really going for it when I asked for movement, even if I asked for it three times back to back. Add in my hilarious and extremely helpful assistant Tommy (pictured, in the pink hoodie) and Chaun's friend and you've got a recipe for the perfect shoot.

While uploading this post, my smile has taking some serious real estate on my face. I could not be more happy about how these photos came out.  I hope you guys love them as much as I do!
