These 5 words are the perfect summary of the makings of this shoot.
I came across Rachael's Instagram back in March and I instantly fell in love with her unique look. After I saw her striking green eyes, glowing red hair, and elegant demeanor, the most amazing stylized shoot popped into my head. I quickly created a mood board with matching color palette (the queen of mood boards never sleeps), sent it over to Rachael, and watched as our mutual excitement swelled.
Little did we know that the universe was fighting against our shoot. So, after having to reschedule our shoot 3 times in the past two months because of rain, we refused to compromise our golden hour shoot. With patience, persistence, and a whole lot of optimism we finally go to shoot together. And with our luck, the sun came out, just for our shoot day. It's official, Rachael is The Sun Whisperer.
Being inspired by her feminine look and edgy attitude, I went to work in search of the perfect outfits that would emulate her personality. I love styling and putting outfits together for shoots, I get to capture the model's personality and essence in both their clothing and their on-camera persona. I honestly feel like if I wasn't a photographer, I would be a stylist for photographers. To me, styling is like a puzzle. Finding bits and pieces and then slowly adding them together to make the perfect outfit

O U T F I T 1:
I don't think I've ever been so shaken up during a photo session before. Working with Rachael was a brand new experience. This girl is incredible. I've never seen so much talent, spunk, grace in such a young lady. There were several instances during the shoot when everyone was silent, as we all watched Rachael prance around our little field in her various outfits. My shutter broke the silence like a firecracker. I didn't even have to look at my viewfinder to know that the moments I was capturing were priceless. As we flipped through the RAWs through my viewfinder, everyone was squealing. The golden sun broke through the clouds and created the most intricate sun flares and masked Rachael's red hair like a halo.

A big thank you, Rachael's lovely mother for being the best at capturing behind the scenes images and for having saving us with bug spray. Thank you for allowing me to work with your daughter! Also shoutout to Kevin for creating these beautiful makeup looks. I'm so glad that I got be apart of your first photoshoot experience. O U T F I T 1:
- Rachael's incredible sparkly bustier was the perfect match for a polkadot lace maxi skirt. Add a baby pink leather jacket and you've got the perfect mix of punk rock and soft grunge. I vividly remember being taken back by how amazing Rachael looked in this outfit. Aside from our collective gasp, we all were silent as we stared at Rachael in awe.
O U T F I T 2:
- I found the most glorious 2 piece prom dress months ago at a local Plato's Closest. As soon as I snagged this $30 skirt I knew it was meant to be photographed. This grey ballgown was beyond anything I could have imagined. That dress was so dramatic, so many people slowed down to watch as Rachael twirled around at sunset in this dress. I think we all concluded that this gown transformed Rachael into a Sunset Princess. And for some reason, some ants and briers seemed to also be attracted to the mesh skirt as they to tried to get in on the action.
O U T F I T 3:
- Amazon Prime never seizes to amaze me. I ordered this "Girl Power" shirt just 2 days before our shoot. Lo and behold, the t-shirt was sitting in my mail box the morning of the shoot. With my improv ironing (sitting on the shirt as we drove to the next location), this yellow tee paired perfectly with the little flower field I found.
