Hello Blog!

When it comes to my photos, I don't often get an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone. 9 times out of 10, when a client approaches me their idea photo session aligns perfectly with my preferred shooting style (aka editorial or lifestyle). However, when I do get the opportunity to try something new, I jump on it! There's nothing like silencing those anxious voices in your head.

When Ashton first pitched her idea to me of a boudoir session as gift to her husband...I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous! I've never done a boudoir session. I've only seen photos of them online...and yeah....that made me 10 times more nervous.
After addressing my nervousness with Ashton, I was relieved when she said that we wanted a elegant lifestyle boudoir session. Elegant and lifestyle? I can do that! Besides, I would never turn down an opportunity to help another woman feel confident and empowered.
So after a little back and fourth messages and a lot of heart eye emojis, Ashton and I decided that the best location for this session would be at an AirBnb. This AirBnb had everything. Great wifi, a peaceful garden, a comfy bed, and oh yeah, a couple of cats and chickens. In my opinion, this house was the best on the block.

No shoot is complete without a behind the scenes video. Click below to watch us keep count of the passing cars that may or may not have seen Ashton in her undies.

S o now let's talk about the driving force behind this shoot. Ashton and her husband. After all these photo are her wedding gift to him! The two of them have known each other for a while since they went to school together. Ashton laughed about how she originally turned her husband down when he asked her out in school! Now she's an Army wife and the two of them are happily married. Isn't it funny how love works? Oh yeah, did I mention that they got married in Hawaii?!
Yup, this is the cutest love story I have ever encountered.
And with her hubby on her mind this girl killed IT! There came a point in the session when I stopped giving her posing ideas because she already knew what she was doing. I mean this session felt like an Aerie campaign ad. And can we talk about her mesmerizing blue eyes? I think I told her she had beautiful eyes at least 10 times during the shoot, along with the words "YAS"  and *clears throat* "SLAY". Just keep scrolling and you'll know what I mean.

Big thank you to Jaleela (@makeupwithjaleela) for trekking up to Greensboro to join us on this shoot! And Ashton, thank you again for allowing me to take these intimately beautiful photos of you. I hope your hubby loves them as much as I do!

Thank you for reading!
Until next time xx
