Hello, blog!

Today's shoot is part 2 of my Amazon Fashion Photoshoot series, yes it's a very long name, for a simple concept. Especially in these shoots, I will be pulling pieces from Amazon.com that I find to be unusual and turn them into fashion editorial material.

So back to this shoot. The concept is actually kind of important (?). Important in the sense of personally believing the message behind it extends outside the realm of these photos. In summary: it's deep.
So let's dive in.

I have always been attracted to unique and eccentric people, especially in a world where people are often trying to blend in instead of standing out. I strive to capture the most personable and notable as possible. I wanted the styling of this shoot to be reminiscent of my love for individuality. I thought of the styling for this shoot by searching for the term “rainbow” on Amazon. I came across this tutu and (for some reason) envisioned an angsty teen, wrapped in child-like tulle, contemplating growing up, while sitting at an empty playground.
My mind truly is a lost wonder that even I can't understand. But I trust my intuition, so I went with this rainbow inspired an idea. I knew that I need to find a model who had the perfect balance between an upset teen and a hard working badass. Aislin (@aislinfreyapax) was more than qualified for the job.

More on the shoot concept; this is the deep part:

As we grow older we’re told that we need to “grow up” but we are never taught how. There’s this kind of “good luck kid mentality”. It is expected that we abandon the traits that make us an individual while picking up the ones that lack distinction. All the while, we are forced to conform to a mold instead of learning how to mold ourselves. The pink suit outfit it the juxtaposition of these two situations; growing up and conforming vs. staying youthful and true to yourself.

This shoot is an ode to all of those who refuse to let go of themselves in the name of “growing up”.

IN CONCLUSION:
Never lose your youthful soul and sometimes it's okay to wear a tutu as a top.
