Hello everyone, please excuse this late blog post as senior extravaganza did not finish until 1 AM so we will act as if this was posted on the correct day at the correct time so in other words I will be talking in present tense.
First let me start off with saying that it's a miracle we made it home alive after the shoot. We almost got into 4 car accidents:
First let me start off with saying that it's a miracle we made it home alive after the shoot. We almost got into 4 car accidents:
- Megan almost got blindsided
- Eric drove the wrong way on one way street
- A car tried to pull out the same time as Eric in the Krispy Kreme parking lot
- Eric tried to make a u-turn in a no u-turn area but hit the curb
In my opinion I think it's because Gaby played with a Oujia board at a witch craft store the other day...
ANYWAY now that I have your attention let's get to the details of this shoot.
First off Eric is super photogenic and always laughing, which makes my job as easy as clicking the shutter, literally that's all I have to do with this kid. We went to Downtown High Point (I love downtowns okay) and set up camp at a super sick location. The sun finally came out today, unlike our last shoots when it's been completely overcast, with that being said, Gaby got to use the reflector which made her really happy. The wall was full of graffiti and no matter where you looked there was something new to discover. Next we went to some random abandoned building that had an all white painted entrance with little green plants growing out of the cracks. I just thought it was a really cute place, aside from the creepy man starting at us. Photography Tip: shoot things/at places that are prominently white to create a natural reflector and be prepared for weird looks from bystanders.
After that, (we were super optimistic today, I think it was the sunlight) we went to yet another abandoned place but this time the place was super creepy. As soon as we walked up to this house in the woods we were smacked in the face with a horrible undefinable smell. This house was completely run down and we could hardly get inside with out almost falling through the broken deck, but hey it made for some really nice pictures. And what else goes better with a creepy house in the woods than flares??? (We just like setting things on fire to be honest).
OVERALL today was an action packed adventure filled with laughs and good times. Sadly Creative Week is over but we ended it with a bang!

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT: the end of Creative week. Thank you to everyone who helped me make sure these shoots turned out perfect, even though we ran into a few obstacles with the weather and logistics I couldn't be happier with how all these shoots turned out. Like I said in an earlier post, I work to create an experience for everyone and to ensure that everyone leaves the shoot with a smile on their face. This week was full of laughs and good times. With end of the school year stress controlling most of our lives it's hard to step back and take a deep breath and relax. It's even harder to remember that sometimes you need to take a step back and just enjoy life. And that even on the gloomy days you can create your own sunshine, make the best of every day and remember the that the most amazing things are the simplest things and I truly feel we accomplished that this week.
Thank you all for following along with me during this fun time in my life, be ready for more shoots and fun this summer!
Until next time,
