It's hump day!
We are now entering into our third week of school and all I can say is that I can't wait until fall break.
Like I said, it's only the third week but I was need of some serious photo therapy.
I had just recently bought a $6 photo prism off of Amazon and I have been dying to use it. I've seen photographers like Brandon Woelfel and Jessica Kobeissi create incredible photos using a prism, so I thought why not experiment.
How hard can it be right?
Wrong.
Working with a prism is a lot harder that I thought. You have the get the angle, lighting, and position just right to get the desired effect. What's even harder, is trying to the the sunlight to shine through the prim perfectly to create a rainbow. I don't think I mastered that technique until the last minutes of the shoot and I quite frankly don't even know what I did to create the effect.
But like I've said in pervious blog post, I love experimenting with photography. I like trying new ideas and even when they don't work out as planned, I feel accomplished because I tried. Sometimes trying is all it takes to make a difference.
Inspirational monologue aside, I am very happy with how these photos turned out. I actually used my 50mm again for the first time and a million years (not really but you get my point) and I was reminded how much I loved that lens. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this psychedelic set of photos.
Have a great week!
