As you probably know, I mainly shoot fashion and portrait styled photos,so when Chaunyetta, came to me after our Fashion Forward shoot asking if I could take some "Mommy and Me" styled photos, I was a little hesitant.
I've taken photos of maybe 3 other children and they were nothing close to being a full production, it was more of an event/party atmosphere and someone asked me to take a photo of them and their child/family.
But, I make a promise to my clients that I will do whatever I can, within my ability, to satisfy their needs, even if it means going outside of my comfort zone.
Feeling both anxious and thrilled, I said yes to this shoot, and boy am I happy that I did.
Disclaimer: I love babies!!!!! Until they are able to talk, then I peace out of there real quick. And being one of the oldest grandchildren, I used to baby sit my cousins (I still do) when they were still at their baby/toddler age, so I know how to work a little baby magic.
So fast-forward to the shoot.

Bright and early.
Mission Polaroid |
We arrived to the serene campus of UNCG.
The birds were chirping.
The sun was shinning.
It was a comfortable 50 degrees.
Everything was going according to plan.
And everything went according to plan during the shoot.
I think my favorite part of the shoot was when I discovered that the little one loves to give high fives, so naturally, I took this as the perfect photo opportunity. You can't tell me this baby isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen.
Chaunyetta and her daughter made my heart so full of cuteness and joy, I thought I was going to faint.
Shooting these two was a walk in the park, literally.
Lesson learned: Don't be afraid to take risk and do something that's outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes doing what is outside our comfort zone is what makes us the most comfortable.
I had such a lovely time during this shoot and it was probably one of the most relaxed shoots I have ever had. But the credit for creating the perfect ambiance has to go the best assistant in the world, Tommy. Thanks Tommy for playing the best mood music, always knowing when we need a good laugh, and keeping my social media alive during this shoot.
And now that you have the back story, let's enjoy these magical and peaceful, "Mommy and Me" photos.
Thanks for reading! Talk you soon xx
