Hello blog!
Today's post is short and sweet, but don't worry, I didn't short you on any photos, quality > quality.
Sometimes things don't go as planned, but you have to learn to think quick on your feet.
My original plans for this shoot changed last minute.
The sun was setting fast and I had to find a new model.
I was forced to conspire a new shoot concept, model, and styling....in under 1 hour.
Despite the stress of having my model going AWOL, I still managed to make a behind the scenes video *cries tears of joy*.

Spontaneous shoots in 2017 remind me of the spontaneous shoots I used to do when I was just starting photography back in 2015. So channeling my old skool routes, I rampaged my closet for new outfits and created a look I've always been drawn to. I styled Jesse in the most semi-punk rock and feminine outfits I could find. Sometimes all it takes in a little denim and mesh to get an outfit a little edge. And flowers that smell like green onions always add a nice whimsical touch.
Add the fading sun and the naturalistic elements of the urban scene and the concept starts to finally come together.
I love to juxtapose light and airy elements with edgy styling. I also like to create scenes that are unexpected. The back of a beat up parking lot and a public garden in the middle of a residential area. Two unconventional locations that somehow, work. There's something magical about the strong contrast of differing segments. It's soothing to the eye, yet bold enough to make you pay attention.
Thanks for reading...x
