Hello blog!

Classes have officially started here at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and that means a brand new living arrangement.

This year my roommates and I opted for the apartment suite style living arrangement, after all, it is out junior year. This apartment looks essentially brand new. Tile floors, marble sinks, giant windows, and did I mention that it has a walk-in shower and closet? I never want to leave!! (Just kidding mom, I will come visit you).

Every year,  I owe it to myself to decorate my room (to the best of my ability) in a way that is both comfortable and creative. Besides, I watch way too much HGTV to not act like an interior designer when the opportunity strikes.

I am no where near finished with my room decor, but I am so deeply in love with my current set-up that I had to share. So let's talk about it.

Bedding:

- Slate Grey Duvet Cover: IKEA
- (2) Burgundy Marble Accent Pillows: IKEA
- (2) Light Grey Silk Accent Pillows: IKEA

My whole bed set, pillows and all, is brought to you by IKEA! I wanted something light and simple, so I picked up this Slate Grey Duvet Cover. I matched my solid bedspread with 4 accent pillows to add a little color and texture to the otherwise dull palette. I have (2) Light Grey Silk Accent Pillows and 2) Burgundy Marble Accent Pillows. I kept my bed palette as neutral as possible so that my wall art could really shine.

Wall:

- 'Make Art Not War" Laminated Poster ($24.99): Amazon (click here to buy)
- Camera With Coupled Exposure Meter Patent Print ($10.95): Amazon (click here to buy)
- Anatomical Human Lungs - Printed on Upcycled
Vintage Dictionary Paper ($12.99): Amazon (click here to buy)

Good news! You can buy ALL of my wall art on Amazon! I got all of these wall decorations for under $50 (and if you buy them from different sellers you can easily get it for under $40)! After searching for hours trying to find wall pieces that would make me forget this horribly beige wall I came across these beautiful pieces. Let's address the art pieces we're all currently drooling over: The 'Make Art Not War" Laminated Poster. When I say this poster is beautiful I mean it. This 18x24 masterpieces was the perfect addition to my room. The printed image is clear and sharp. Did I mention is laminated? Perfect for college students who move often, the lamination helps to keep the poster safe from tears and bends. Next my Camera With Coupled Exposure Meter Patent Print. I have never shot film other than my Polaroid camera and  couple of disposables, but I love the sleek simplicity of this print. The finish is smooth and it feels like it's been printed on a thin card stock paper. I didn't expect this print to be so high quality. Lastly, the Anatomical Human Lungs - Printed on Upcycled Vintage Dictionary Paper. I was a bit shocked when this print arrived. It is very delicate as the Dictionary paper is very thin, it is vintage after all. And the print was not attached to the cardboard piece behind it, which I thought was odd. Nevertheless, the print again is Crystal clear. The way the lungs are printed into the paper really gives off a vintage and intriguing vibe.

Scent:

- Everyday Aromatherapy Lavender Chamomile Pillow and Room Spray ($3.99): TJMaxx

Okay I know having a 'scent' here in this category is kind of weird but bear with me. I have a very sensitive nose, I smell way too many things in my opinion. Living in a apartment with other people, I don't know what smells to expect, so I got this to cover my back. Plus, as the bottle says, the scent is a calming aromatherapy spray. I spray this on my pillows and blankets when I wake up and before I go to sleep. The scent is very subtle and want smell up you whole room is perfect for me. Plus I even spray it on my clothes sometimes before class *shrugs*.

This year I wanted my room to reflect me and my art. Over the last year and half I have grown tremendously as an artists. I've launched my Youtube channel, completely re-branded my photography, renovated my blog, and got published two times in an online/print publication. And although school is my #1 priority, my art takes second place in a landslide. I'm constantly looking for new ways to get inspired and drafting shoot ideas and projects.
I wanted my room to be the vessel that facilitates my creativity.
Translation: I want my room to be chill and comfortable as frick.
And with my other decor plans in the midst, I think I can safely say that my room will indeed be, 'chill and comfortable as frick'.
