Hello blog!
Last month I had the pleasure of meeting one of the sweetest girls ever. I love my job because not only do I get to be surrounded by beautiful people, but I also get be surrounded by humble people. In an industry often tainted for its vanity, its so refreshing to meet wholesome and wonderful human beings!
Now enough of me being a goober, let's talk about this HOT shoot.
This shoot was smokin' hot. When out shoot started at 10 am it was already close to 90 degrees, so you can image that by high noon, we all were so over the heat. But Miya was still severing looks even in her long sleeves and a vinyl jacket outfit combo, without complaint. Miya if I for some reason forgot to tell you think on shoot day: thank you soooooo much for being such a good sport and helping me bring my artistic vision to life, despite your discomfort.
But the weather wasn't the only heating up during this shoot.
For the first time, ever in my photography career, my camera stopped working during the shoot. In shock I tried to get rid of the impending "error" message on my camera screen. I took the battery and memory card out, I trade batteries with my video camera, I turned it off, waited, turned it on, waited; but alas the error message would not budge. So as I frantically switched cameras with my videographer (Arianna you are the REAL MVP), I occurred to me that maybe...just maybe...my camera may have gotten too hot. SO, I switched cameras for a little bit and let my main camera sit in the shade. And low and behold, after a few minutes out of direct sunlight, my baby back in business! Oh yeah and did I mention that the Fire Department showed up when we were shooting at the parking deck? I will continue to blame Miya and her scorching modeling for these events, not the 90 degree weather.

This shoot really rejuvenated my energy. I rarely shoot in the Heart of Downtown Greensboro because I don't like big crowds of people or being approached by panhandlers (not that anyone does) but the city always draws me back. There is something nostalgic about my trips to downtown. To me, The Heart of Downtown isn't the local coffee shop or the hottest club in. The Heart of Downtown are the memories created and shared with amazing people.
And I am very lucky to that I have had the opportunity to create some kick-butt memories with some kick-butt people. And I feel that shoot, is the ultimate attest to that.
