Today's post features a familiar face. If you've followed along with me and my work you should recognize CJ from my BEHIND THE SCENES | MALE MODEL PHOTOSHOOT video.
If you haven't watched that video then you can not truly enjoy these photos at their full potential.
In the video you get a first hand glimpse of what my shoots with CJ consist of.
If I had to break the elements of a shoot like this into percentages, it would look like this:
5% of me putting CJ into one of my jackets
10% nonsense (check out the Boomerang I added to this post to see what I mean)
15% laughing uncontrollably for no reason
20%
50% of me telling CJ to stop yawning and/or waiting for him to finish yawning so I can take a picture
And if I could describe CJ in one word it would be: goofball.
P.S. we both fought long and hard about which Polaroid we wanted to individually keep. I'm still not convinced that CJ is fully happy with his choice.
So if you couldn't tell, there is never a dull moment when we shoot together. These Shoots are filled with endless laughs and sarcasm. I always challenge myself to build a strong relationship with everyone I capture. Taking this extra time to build a working relationship with your subject always results in better photos. Rather it's a client or a model, I make a huge effort to ensure that my subject is comfortable and having a great time!
I will end this blog post with my favorite dialogue from the shoot:
ME: "Let's take a selfie for the blog!"
CJ: "Okay! I love the blog."
Me: "Omg you read the blog???"
CJ: "Yes! It's my favorite part because thats where you talk the most *insert poop emoji*."
And that is all I have to say about that.
