Hello blog!

I am writing this post instead of reading for my lecture tomorrow!! HAHA!
Procrastination aside, I have completed week 2 and 3 of my semester abroad. WOW. Almost a month in Canada and I still miss sweet tea. Now if you are tired of waiting for me to make a new post before you know of my whereabouts, I would definitely recommend following me on Instagram. I post there daily rather it's on my feed or on my stories!

pssst, if you don't want to read and prefer to just scroll through the pictures here, go over to my YouTube channel where I posted a vlog (video blog) of my first week!

For all you readers (I love ya'll), I will be breaking down the past 2 weeks for ya. I decided to combine these weeks because most of the vlog is pretty boring. But, of course I did do some cool things to past the time. So let's break down the highlights of weeks 2 and 3.

WEEK 2: JAN 14 - JAN 20
I found a Walmart, so that was a great way to start off the week. I also won a photo contest with the international office and as a prize I received maple syrup (so on brand) and Brock University mittens. I should also note that while I was picking up my prize, I got interview for a Brock News story. My words and winning photo can be seen on the Brock New website. Click here to read the story.
I also went to my first Brock University basketball game! Twas' a fun time. Later in the week I went dancing with a couple of my *new friends. Brock University has a club/bar on campus called Issac's. 2 Thursdays out of the month are called 'Thirsty Thursday'. These nights are perfect for dancing! I love having a place like this on campus because it not only promotes a fun and safe night  but it also is not very far from my bedroom. So after dancing the night away in my Dr. Martens I was able to be in bed in less than 10 minutes. I finished off this week with a trip to the Icewine Wineries. I have never had a sip of win before this day but I'm willing to try everything once! Don't worry friends, the drinking age is 19 here in Canada.

WEEK 3: JAN 21 - JAN 27
This week started off SLLLOOOOWWW. But it went out with a BANG (literally). The only highlight of this week worth mentioning (feel free to watch the vlog for the full details of this week) is my trip to Niagara Falls. Yes, I did go to Niagara Falls during the first week. No, you are not crazy. BUT, this trip was very different. For starters, we had to take 3 different busses to get to Niagara Falls. 2 of those 3 busses took us in a circle. So after being on various modes of transportation for about and hour and a half we *finally made it to Niagara Falls. Seeing the falls at night is a completely different experience than seeing them during the day. If you have a chance to go during both hours of the day, do it. The sound of the rushing falls mixed with the color changing spotlights is beautiful beyond compare. BONUS points if you get to watch a firework show over the falls!!! I mean, how amazing is that?! I still can't believe that happened. Being able to watch the fireworks ablaze as the Niagara River tumbled down was truly a blessing.

Moral of the week(s)? Don't let a bad start stop you from having an amazing ending.

Thanks for reading!
